The last Provincial Council of the Lay Fraternities of Santo Domingo of the Province of Hispania took place on February 15 at the Convent of Atocha in Madrid, where he was invited by the Provincial President José Vicente Vila Castellar OP, the representative of the European Council (ECLDF) Maro Botica OP.

The Master of Order, Fray Gerard TIMONER III, has appointed Fray Juan Ubaldo López Salamanca, as General Promoter of the Laity. He is the son of the Province of San Luis Bertrán of Colombia and succeeds Fray Rui Carlos Antunes & Almeida Lopes, who has just completed his term.

The European Council of Lay Dominican Fraternities (ECLDF) met from 24 to 31 July at the Convent of St. Catherine of Alexandria in Split (Croatia).
Croatia was chosen because of our desire to make contact with lay Dominicans there, who have started the process of creating a formal provincial structure.
Please find below a brief report detailing the work we undertook during this meeting.
